5 Good Reads for Investors in Places You Might Not Expect

1 – The Great American Bubble Machine. Rolling Stone’s gonzo journalist Matt Taibbi takes on Goldman Sachs.

2 – The Man Who Crashed the World. Michael Lewis on AIG in Vanity Fair.

3 – Secret of Googlenomics: Data-Fueled Recipe Brews Profitability. A great look at how Google really makes money. From Wired.

4 – Causes of the Financial Crisis. Just the abstracts here – you’ll have to pay for all 280 pages – but worth reading nonetheless. From Critical Review.

5 – Free. The new book from the author of The Long Tail is available in its entirety on Scribd. Author Chris Anderson makes the case that many times businesses can profit more from giving things away than they can by charging for them. Here’s Malcolm Gladwell’s review of it.
